Steve’s story:
Born Steven Lee Wenzel the year 1956, one of seven siblings. Raised in the badger state spending much of his youth outdoors, where the wild things are.
His heroes: John Muir, Tarzan, and Rin Tin Tin.
A champion for the underdog.
Worked as paper boy, dishwasher, cook, farmhand, mover, disc jockey, hiking guide, home designer and builder.
Taps his toes to honest country music.
Found his love of 40 plus years in Montana.
A lover of dogkind and still has dreams of his previous life as an Inuit sled dog.
Finds solace in the indigenous belief of the fundamental inter- connectedness of all natural things, all forms of life in harmony with mother earth... not afraid of burning in hell.
Likes sharing his passion for the wilderness through his paintings.
